Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Orange County

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Orange County is part of a national non-profit organization that provides adult mentors or "Bigs" for children "Littles" between the ages of 6-18 years old. The mission of the organization is to help children reach their full potential through one-on-one relationships with responsible and positive thinking mentors.

Currently BBBS of Orange County has over 100 children, mostly boys, awaiting a permanent match. Some of these children due to being older or living in areas of the county such as Santa Ana and Anaheim where less adult volunteers live, have been on the list for years.

Morgan Drexen teamed with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County for the "Big for a Day" event at Camelot Golfland in Anaheim.

Morgan Drexen's Involvement

On August 6th 2011 Morgan Drexen sponsored a "Big for a Day" where wait-listed children were matched one-on-one with volunteers from the Costa Mesa-based company. Due to an overwhelming interest in the event which was held at Camelot Golfland in Anaheim, there were more children than adults and many volunteers mentored two children for the day.

The day was a great success with both Morgan Drexen volunteers and the children and many voiced their hopes of another "Big for a Day" event in the near future. In addition, a few Morgan Drexen volunteers are now applying to become a permanent "Big".
